Healing happens best in connection—with others who understand.
This confidential support group offers a unique opportunity for betrayed partners and their unfaithful partners to come together in a safe, compassionate space. Here, you can share your experience, strength, and hope without judgment.
The group meets weekly on Wednesdays from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM EST via a HIPAA-compliant Zoom video platform. Participants are encouraged to log in at 7:25 PM. This is an ongoing, open-ended group available by invitation to clients I’ve worked with in my private practice or those who are referred by my colleagues.
Confidentiality is a core requirement. Everything shared in the group must remain private.
Group members are welcome to connect and support one another outside of group sessions unless someone specifically asks that their contact information not be shared. A live, editable Google Doc contact list will be provided for those who wish to opt in.
If you’re not currently a client but would like to join, you’re welcome to participate after completing a one-time individual intake session. This session allows me to assess your readiness for the group, understand your history, and offer feedback, resources, or referrals as needed. .
Questions and comments are always welcome.
GROUP RULES
Sex addiction affects countless lives, but for those reeling from the shock of betrayal, the experience can feel incredibly isolating.
Whether I’m working with you individually, with your partner, or together in couples therapy, my goal is to first help you feel grounded and safe. When you’re ready, I’ll invite you to join others who are also navigating the pain, confusion, and complexity of sexual betrayal.
This group offers a space to process powerful emotions—fear, anger, hurt, rejection, abandonment, frustration, grief, shame, insecurity, and confusion—that may feel overwhelming or even destructive. In the company of others who have faced similar challenges and are at various stages of healing, you’ll find empathy, support, and the possibility of hope. Through shared experiences, education, and compassionate connection, you may begin to discover that healing is possible—and that you are not alone.
As post-traumatic growth unfolds, many participants begin to experience deeper self-awareness, compassion, clarity, and the ability to practice loving detachment.
Each week, a topic will be introduced to guide reflection and discussion. As trust grows, members are encouraged to share their thoughts and vulnerabilities, always within the safety of a confidential and supportive space. Most weeks, guest speakers will join the group to offer their insights, tools, and expertise to further support your healing journey.
All group offerings are rooted in the intention to foster connection, deepen understanding, and help you reclaim your inner peace.

Meeting Details:
📅 When: Every other Tuesday

Group goals include:
- Restoring a sense of sanity and inner stability
- Rebuilding trust in yourself and others
- Cultivating connection, mindfulness, and hope for the future
Important Note:
If you’re currently experiencing intense anger, resentment, or acute emotional overwhelm, it’s important to do individual work with your therapist before joining the Support Group for Women Who Have Left Their Relationships. Healing requires a supportive environment, and unresolved “group anger” can unintentionally hinder progress for all. Once you’ve worked through the early stages of grief, this group can offer powerful support for continued healing and growth.
Therapist-Led Support Group for Couples
A small, fee-based, therapist-led couples group designed for partners who are at least two years beyond the formal disclosure process. This group is intended for couples seeking continued post-traumatic growth through connection with others. Even after two to three years of solid recovery work, many couples find the relationship can remain “stuck.” Working alongside other couples can deepen insight, foster mutual understanding, and support renewed growth. Couples Recovery Groups are available by invitation once you have completed the disclosure process. Please let me know if you are interested and would like to go on the waiting list. The group is $150 per session per couple and meets twice a month. The group will be less than 6 couples. You will be charged $300 a month whether you attend both sessions or not.
Meeting Details:
📅 When: As Determined by Group Member Consensus
⏰ Time: As Determined by Group Member Consensus – held every other week
💲 Cost: $300 per Couple per Month
Group goals include:
- Support ongoing post-traumatic growth and help couples move beyond feeling “stuck” after early recovery
- Deepen emotional connection, empathy, and communication within the relationship
- Increase insight into individual and relational patterns through shared work with other couples
If any of these groups resonate with you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to help you find the right fit. If you are interested in joining a therapist led small group please send me a text 631 332-3312.
Betrayal Trauma & Divorce Coaching – Rachel Afenderson
Rachel Afenderson is a Divorce Coach specializing in betrayal trauma and post-divorce recovery. She offers compassionate support for individuals navigating the emotional and practical challenges that follow divorce. Her coaching focuses on healing, rebuilding confidence, and creating a strong foundation for your next chapter.
Welcome. You are here because something sacred in your life was broken, and you are searching for clarity, steadiness, and truth after profound emotional injury. Betrayal alters the nervous system, fractures identity, and disrupts one’s sense of safety in the world. What you are experiencing is not weakness or failure. It is a human response to deception, loss, and relational shock. Healing is possible, and it does not require you to minimize your pain or rush your process.
My work as a certified divorce coach is devoted to women navigating betrayal, high conflict separation, and life redefining transitions. This practice blends practical insight, structured coaching, and lived experience to help you regain emotional stability, restore self trust, and make grounded decisions from a place of strength rather than survival. Here, you are met with discretion, intelligence, and deep respect for your story. Together, we focus on rebuilding your internal foundation so that whatever choices you make next are rooted in clarity, dignity, and long term wellbeing.
